Pediatric Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Springfield, Massachusetts
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200–$2,320
• Assignment Start: November 2, 2026

• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Unit: 45-bed inpatient acute care pediatric unit
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1 nurse to 4–5 patients
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Work Environment: On-site

Pediatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or eligibility to practice in Massachusetts
• At least 2 years of professional pediatric nursing experience
• Experience caring for pediatric patients in an inpatient acute care setting
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday requirements
• Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills

Pediatric RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient nursing care to pediatric patients from the neonatal period through age 21
• Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, and evaluate clinical progress
• Care for patients with medical, surgical, oncology, trauma, orthopedic, and behavioral health diagnoses
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring therapeutic response and changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, support services, patients, and families to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families regarding treatments, medications, recovery, and ongoing care needs
• Maintain accurate electronic clinical documentation and communicate patient updates during nursing handoffs
• Float as needed to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Continuing Care Nursery
