Job Summary

Pediatric Floor Nurse Pediatric Specialty The organization is seeking a qualified Pediatric Floor Nurse to provide patient care on a busy pediatric unit. This position involves caring for pediatric patients between the ages of 3 days to 18 years, including those with common childhood illnesses, respiratory conditions, and post-surgical needs. The nurse will be responsible for delivering high-level pediatric care in a setting that often requires flexibility and adaptability.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with potential for overtime options. Floating to other units such as PICU may be required.
  • Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience, BLS and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA), EPIC electronic medical records experience, and licensure in a compact or in-state registered nurse license. Experience in a facility with 400+ beds and Level 2 trauma designation is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric trauma, respiratory cases, RSV, complex surgical procedures, and high-acuity pediatric care. IV skills and experience working with EPIC and Pyxis systems are preferred.
  • Additional Information: Orientation includes a standard travelers orientation followed by 24 hours of on-the-floor training with a preceptor. The unit has 28 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. The unit operates in an acute care setting.
  • Certification Requirements: BLS and PALS certifications are required.
