The role involves working with pediatric and adult female patients, including post-partum mothers and post-op cases, within a general med-surg environment. Key Responsibilities of the RN - Pediatrics - Travel- Obtain and record initial assessment and establish priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
- Re-assess patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention
- Develop and implement a measurable individualized plan of care for patients
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify the plan of care based on patient outcomes
- Participate in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning
- Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs
- Perform various Point of Care testing procedures
- Utilize effective communication strategies and delegate unit work assignments appropriately
- Utilize the appropriate chain of command for resolution of difficult issues
- Coordinate team assignments and follow up on delegated patient care tasks
Requirements of the RN - Pediatrics - Travel- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
- BLS Certification via AHA required
- ACLS Certification via AHA required
- PALS Certification via AHA required
- NRP certification required
- STABLE certification required
- Peds and Med-Surg experience preferred
