Job TitleRegistered Nurse - Medical Surgical Unit (MSU)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | 12-Hour Day Shift | Must be flexible to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients on a 20-bed Medical Surgical Unit
- Maintain staffing ratios of typically 4:1 (max 5:1) for non-COVID patients and typically 2:1 (max 3:1) for COVID patients
- Float to other departments as needed, which may include taking a patient load if experienced and competent, or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones
- Assist with coverage of Flu Immunization clinics as needed, in addition to inpatient responsibilities
- Attend staff meetings as expected throughout the duration of the assignment
- Must be comfortable and competent caring for both adult and pediatric patients
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- American Heart Association BLS certification required
- American Heart Association ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Minimum of 3 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
- Minimum of 1 year of pediatric nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience working with adult, geriatric, and pediatric populations within the same unit or setting
- Comfort and confidence floating to various departments and adapting to different patient care needs
- Prior travel nursing experience with familiarity navigating new employee orientation processes
