Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Any Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience Required License: Nursing License Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Must-Have: Strong IV insertion skills preferred Description: This outstanding Pediatric Progressive Care Unit is looking for the right RN to join their team of compassionate and driven healthcare professionals. Join this highly motivated team of caregivers and enjoy a challenging and welcoming environment based on optimal patient care. Nurses will provide care for pediatric patients in a progressive care setting. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:4, with a ratio of 1:3 for post-renal transplant patients. Common diagnoses include chronic complex care, post-operative care including spinal fusion, and general medical-surgical conditions. Daily responsibilities may involve telemetry monitoring, strict intake/output monitoring, and various medical interventions. Common procedures performed include managing feeding tubes, PCA pumps, and wound vacs. Nurses will be expected to float to other general care and medical-surgical areas as needed. Collaboration with a VAT team is available for difficult IV access situations. Previous experience with PICC line care and management is preferred, though certification is not required. The orientation process will include training on electronic medical records systems and other essential responsibilities.
