Description:
This seasonal travel position is for a RN in the Pediatrics specialty.
The role involves working in a step-down unit with mixed care patients.
Patient ratios are 1:3 for step-down patients and 1:4 for basic care patients.
The department consists of 36 private rooms with parent sleeping accommodations.
Staff includes charge nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and Clinical Nurse Coordinators.
Staffing will vary based on the shift and day of the week.
The unit handles procedures such as NGTs, Foleys, TP Tubes, PIVs, and phlebotomy.
Rare procedures like lumbar punctures may occur occasionally.
Ideal candidates will have experience with high flow oxygen, spinal fusions, and chest tubes.
The department promotes teamwork and seeks individuals who are willing to ask for help and support others.
Scheduling flexibility is emphasized, with an effort to accommodate traveler requests alongside those of full-time employees.
Every other weekend is required to maintain staffing needs.
