Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN), Medical/Surgical – Vermont

Start Date: October 14, 2026

Location: Saint Johnsbury, Vermont

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 48-hour contract (36 hours guaranteed during orientation week due to midweek start). Primarily adult patients with occasional pediatric care.

Highlights:
  • Provide comprehensive medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric care in a dynamic general Med/Surg unit
  • Work in a 25-bed critical access hospital in Vermont's scenic Northeast Kingdom
  • Collaborate with a talented interdisciplinary team in a supportive, mission-driven environment
  • Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver holistic care addressing patients' medical, spiritual, psychosocial, and developmental needs
  • Preference given to candidates with Meditech EMR experience
  • Orientation begins midweek (Wednesdays); personal transportation required as public transit is not available
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience required
  • Current Vermont RN or multi-state RN licensure
  • BLS (American Heart Association) certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • Flu vaccination required (no exceptions)
  • Experience with adult and occasional pediatric patients; pediatric-only RNs should not apply
  • All credentials must be uploaded five business days prior to start date
  • Reliable personal transportation essential
