Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg/Peds Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: License required Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: - Facial hair must meet fit testing requirements - Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others Description: Department: Medical Surgical/Pediatrics Number of Beds: 17 beds (14 inpatient, 3 observation) Nurse: Patient Ratios: Days 1:4, Nights 1:5 Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients: Adults and pediatrics, including UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD RNs are not required to titrate drips Common titratable and/or set rate drips include electrolytes and hypertensive medications A Charge Nurse is present on each shift and takes an assignment Patient care techs are available with a ratio of 2:15 on days and 1 on nights Pediatricians are not in-house but are on call for pediatric patients Respiratory therapists primarily manage Bipap ICU monitors are used, and nurses apply telemetry to patients Shifts are self-scheduled Weekend requirement as needed No holiday requirement Floating to other units may be required for 1:1s as needed Scrub color is navy blue Attributes for success on this unit include communication, motivation, approachability, and teamwork Documentation can be complex, and questions should be asked when unsure Radius rule applies: candidates should not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any affiliated facilities Requests for time off must be submitted upfront and additional requests will not be approved Client has a cancellation policy of up to 4 shifts for 13-week assignments Charting system used is MEDITECH BSN is not required TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Peds Med/Surg RN in Dickinson, North Dakota, 58601!
