    Shreveport, LA | Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with an average census of 5 and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
    • Operate and monitor specialized equipment including ventilators, high-frequency oscillatory vents, Alaris IV pumps, PCA pumps, cooling blankets, and cardiac monitoring systems
    • Utilize EEG, ICP, BIS monitoring, and EVD systems as part of comprehensive patient assessment and care
    • Float to other pediatric units and/or NICU as needed based on departmental needs
    • Participate in 2 weekend rotations per month and be available to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)
    • In the event of an emergency, may be assigned by the unit manager to an emergency response team and expected to remain at or support the facility as directed
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in PICU or relevant pediatric specialty
    • AHA-issued ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
    • Epic EMR experience required
    • NURSYS report must be submitted with profile and current within 4 weeks of submission date
    • Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (as measured from the address on file on driver's license to the facility address) to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers will be considered
    • Familiarity with high-acuity pediatric patient populations and complex monitoring systems
    • Experience floating within pediatric or neonatal care settings
