    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – PICU

    Location

    Peoria, IL | Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Full-Time | 12-Hour Shifts | Days and Nights Available (07:00–19:30)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed PICU setting managing a broad range of diagnoses including Medical, Surgical, Neuro, and Cardiovascular ICU patients, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2
    • Monitor patients using bedside Philips monitors; recognize rhythm changes and implement associated interventions appropriately
    • Operate and manage respiratory therapy equipment including Avia, Servo U, Home Vents Trilogy, and LTV ventilators
    • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including intensivists, APPs, and residents available in-house 24/7, as well as a free charge RN and house supervisor on every shift
    • Adhere to every-other-weekend scheduling requirements and may be expected to work one significant and one insignificant holiday depending on assignment timing
    • Float to step-down and lower levels of care by rotation as needed; NICU/NIC float is at the traveler's discretion
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
    • BLS certification required
    • PALS certification required
    • Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience (candidates with intermediate care/step-down experience may be considered)
    • Must comply with a drug-free campus policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
    • Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local rate adjustment
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with a high-acuity, mixed-diagnosis pediatric ICU population including neuro and cardiovascular cases
    • Familiarity with Avia, Servo U, Trilogy, or LTV ventilator platforms
    • Comfort working in a team-float model, including experience floating with full nursing teams to adjacent units
