    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – PICU

    Location

    Omaha, NE

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care across a mixed-acuity 24-bed unit, including PICU (1:2 ratio), PCU (1:3 ratio), and Acute Care (1:4 ratio) assignments
    • Adapt to acuity spectrum as needed, working across PICU, PCU, and acute care levels within the unit
    • Serve as a Rover/Task Nurse on inpatient units when required, performing duties such as repositioning, bathing, ambulation assistance, meal assistance, patient transport, and medication administration within scope of training
    • Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
    • Meet weekend shift requirements (minimum of 3 weekend shifts plus a Sunday night per scheduling period) and fulfill holiday obligations (must work 2 of 3 major holidays)
    • Adhere to unit scheduling as assigned by the unit scheduler; shift requests are considered but not guaranteed
    Required Qualifications
    • Active or pending RN license for the state of Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
    • Minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience; high-acuity pediatric experience strongly preferred
    • Current BLS and PALS certifications required
    • Proficiency with Epic charting required
    • First-time travelers not accepted unless candidate has 3 or more years of PICU experience
    • Candidate must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Current ACLS certification preferred
    • Prior experience in high-acuity pediatric or PICU settings strongly preferred
    • Experience working in a mixed-acuity inpatient environment
