Key Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric patients, delivering competent and compassionate nursing care
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders
- Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes when necessary
- Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
- Communicates with patients and families regarding care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
- Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals to appropriate personnel based on patient care needs
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS certification (American Heart Association)
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board Approved Program
- Strong ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
- Experience working collaboratively in a team-based hospital environment
