    Registered Nurse – PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Rotating Shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed PICU with an average daily census of approximately 15 patients, maintaining ICU ratios of 1:1–2 and stepdown ratios of 1:3
    • Titrate sedation drips (Fentanyl, Versed, Precedex) and vasoactive medications per physician orders
    • Manage and care for patients with complex diagnoses including congenital heart conditions, DKA, respiratory illness, neurosurgery, tracheostomies, and ventilator dependence
    • Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP in collaboration with respiratory therapy staff
    • Float within the children's service line as needed, including L&D, NICU, and Acute Pediatrics, maintaining standard unit ratios
    • Participate in weekend and holiday rotation schedules as required by unit needs
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN licensure in good standing
    • Minimum 2 years of PICU experience (required)
    • Current BLS and PALS certifications
    • Experience titrating sedation protocols and vasoactive drips
    • COVID-19 vaccination required (full vaccination series); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted for review and approval
    • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel assignment
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Comfort and experience caring for adult patients in a pediatric setting
    • Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
    • Experience floating to L&D, NICU, or Acute Pediatrics units
