Job Title
Travel RN – Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU/CVICU)
Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in an acuity-adaptive CICU/CVICU setting, managing both ICU and step-down level patients for continuity of care
Care for patients with congenital heart disease (CHD), including pre-operative and post-operative management
Manage and monitor arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines
Perform and assist with procedures including conscious sedation, intubation/extubation, sternal closures, ECMO cannulation/decannulation, CRRT, and manual PD
Respond to codes and support post-operative recovery of general and cardiac surgical patients
Float as needed to PICU, NICU, pediatric med-surg, and pediatric oncology units
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience as a staff nurse in a dedicated Pediatric CICU or CVICU
Minimum 3–4 travel contracts in a dedicated pediatric CICU setting
Minimum 2 years of PICU experience as a staff nurse
Demonstrated experience caring for patients with congenital heart disease and post-operative CHD management
Experience managing arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines
Active certifications: BLS, PALS, and ACLS required
Preferred Experience / Skills
2 or more years of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse
At least 1 year of experience caring for neonatal cardiac patients, including pre-operative and post-operative management
2 or more years of pediatric cardiac experience in a step-down or cardiology floor setting
Familiarity with Meditech EMR and equipment such as Servo U ventilators, Somanetics NIRS machines, and GE radiant warmers
