    Registered Nurse – PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide specialized nursing care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for patients ranging from infants through young adults up to age 25
    • Perform epilepsy monitoring and deliver specialized care across all applicable pediatric age groups
    • Administer and monitor inotropes and interpret EKG/ECG rhythms as part of routine patient care
    • Complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation with acceptable passing scores
    • Participate in holiday rotation, working at minimum every other holiday as required by the unit
    • Accurately document and submit hours worked using the designated time-tracking system
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in PICU or the specialty being applied for; travel experience may be considered for pediatric experience requirement
    • Minimum 18 months of recent Pediatric nursing experience
    • Active, permanent Ohio RN license or valid Compact State license in hand at time of submission – no pending licenses accepted
    • Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications in hand at time of submission
    • Proficiency in EKG/ECG rhythm recognition and inotrope administration
    • One professional reference from a manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty from an assignment within the past 12 months (co-worker references not accepted)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred
    • Experience with epilepsy monitoring in a pediatric critical care setting
