Registered Nurse – PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)

Contract | Onsite | Rotating Day/Night Shifts (3x12-Hour Shifts) | Days: 7:00am–7:30pm | Nights: 7:00pm–7:30am
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU, including patients up to 25 years of age
- Monitor and manage patients requiring epilepsy monitoring and inotrope administration
- Perform and interpret EKG/ECG rhythm recognition as part of ongoing patient assessment
- Rotate between day and night shifts as needed to meet unit operational requirements
- Complete required orientation assessments including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate evaluations with an acceptable passing score
- Participate in holiday rotation, working at minimum every other holiday
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license – must hold a permanent Ohio license or a Compact state license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 18 months of permanent (non-travel) experience in PICU or the specialty being applied for
- Minimum of 18 months of recent Pediatric nursing experience (travel experience accepted)
- Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required at time of submission – no pending certifications accepted
- Experience with EKG interpretation and inotrope administration
- One professional reference from a manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty from an assignment within the past 12 months (co-worker references not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred
- Experience with epilepsy monitoring in a pediatric setting
