The department has 23 beds and a staff of 45. Day shift consists of 4 RNs, 1 Charge RN, and 5 mid-shift RNs. Night shift includes 4 Night RNs, 1 night EMT, and 1 night charge. Patient ratios are 4:1, increasing to 5:1 during surge. Typical procedures performed include port access, IV start, venipuncture, nasal wash, and point of care testing. The required equipment includes GE monitors and Meditech EMR. Ideal candidates should be caring, competent, and able to communicate effectively.
