Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown Registered Nurse (PCU RN) – Night Shift

  • Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12-Hour or 4x12-Hour Shifts | 18:30 / 18:45 – 07:00 | 48-Hour Weekly Guarantee Option Available
    • Weekend Protocol: Every-other-weekend requirement.
    • On-Call Protocol: No call required.
    • Floating Protocol: Required to float within discipline across local regional campuses.
    • Orientation Note: 16 non-billable orientation hours (NBO).
  • Assignment Duration: 8, 10, or 13-Week Contract Options | 2 Open Positions

Submission Hardstops [STRICT & NON-NEGOTIABLE]

  • Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]: Minimum 1+ years of clinical PCU / Stepdown RN experience required [HARDSTOP]. (Completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment preferred).
  • Dual State Licensure Mandate [HARDSTOP]:
    • Active Illinois State RN License required at submission [HARDSTOP].
    • Active Iowa State RN License required upon offer acceptance (or valid multi-state eNLC Compact RN License covering both states) [HARDSTOP].
  • Former Employee Restriction [HARDSTOP]: Cannot have been employed by UnityPoint Health within the last 12 months [HARDSTOP].
  • Required Technical & Clinical Skills [HARDSTOP]: Direct hands-on management experience with chest tubes, FemStops, tracheostomies, continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs), surgical drains, and central lines [HARDSTOP].
  • Pharmacology & Vasoactive Drips [HARDSTOP]: Proven clinical competency in managing and titrating continuous IV infusions including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban [HARDSTOP].
  • Certifications [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION]:
    • Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support — AHA ONLY) certification [HARDSTOP].
    • Active AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support — AHA ONLY) certification [HARDSTOP].
  • EMR Proficiency: Direct clinical documentation experience in Epic EMR.
