Job Details

  • Position Description:
    The nurse will work in a step-down unit that manages patients with cardiac and other medical conditions, such as NSTEMI, post-catheterization, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, GI bleed, detox, respiratory distress, and sepsis. Responsibilities include managing IV nitro, heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and titratable drips. Knowledge of post-angiography care, art line experience, and the ability to titrate medications like nitro, diltiazem, insulin, heparin, and amiodarone is essential.

  • Required Qualifications:
    Certifications: ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), EKG Course; Education: RN License; Experience: 0 years minimum; Location: within 80 miles of the facility; Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours shift, minimum 48 hours per week.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience with management of IV medications, post-catheterization care, and telemetry monitoring.

  • Additional Information:
    The nurse will be responsible for reading their own telemetry strips on GE monitors and must wear navy blue scrubs. The shift includes every other weekend and holiday, with a call or standby requirement. The unit provides up to 3 days of orientation.
