Registered Nurse (RN)

This position requires a dedicated Registered Nurse to support the Thoracic Surgery unit. The role involves working evening or night shifts, primarily 12-hour shifts from 1900 to 0730, with a schedule that includes every other weekend and some holidays. Limited requests for time off will be accepted during the peak periods of 12/22 to 1/5. The candidate must be willing to work on December 24 and December 25, as requests for time off during these holidays will not be approved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide quality nursing care to patients in the Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings.
• Monitor and manage patients with complex medical needs, including those on ventilators and transplant recipients.
• Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and post-discharge care.

Qualifications:

• Current Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required.
• Experience in Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings.
• Ventilator and transplant experience is essential.
• BLS and ACLS certification through AHA required.

Requirements:

The selected candidate will be required to pass a Telemetry test prior to starting the position.
