Wellspring Nurse Source is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information

This is an acute and intermediate care unit specializing in thoracic, cardiac, and vascular surgical patients. The unit includes:

  • 28 total beds: 22 acute-care beds and 6 intermediate monitoring unit (IMU) beds.
  • Patient population includes those recovering from procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafts, cardiac valve repairs and replacements, aortic aneurysm repairs, lung resections, and heart and lung transplants.
  • Intermediate care for patients needing more advanced monitoring than acute-care beds, but less intensive than the ICU.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population.
  • Monitor patient conditions and manage medications and treatments.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Utilize advanced monitoring technologies and adhere to established protocols.
  • Support patients and families through the recovery process.

Qualifications

  • Two years of nursing experience required.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Epic experience is essential.
  • Must comply with the floating policy.
  • Virginia nursing license pending may be submitted.

Schedule Information

  • Available shifts: 36 or 48 hours per week.
  • Must commit to working every other weekend and every other holiday.
  • Requests for time off may be approved, with the exception of time around July 4th.
