Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This role is for an experienced Registered Nurse in a stepdown unit with opportunities to float to additional units as required. There is an option for an 18-week commitment for winter coverage, with the possibility to accept a 13-week term as well.

Shift Details

The position requires rotating shifts: either 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM or 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with shifts subject to change based on the operational needs of the facility. While preferences will be taken into consideration, flexibility is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the stepdown unit.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure the best patient outcomes.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, intervening as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Participate in patient and family education.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information.

Qualifications

• MUST have a valid Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand.
• Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in the specialty applying for is required. Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is preferred but not mandatory.
• Current certification in BLS and ACLS from AHA or American Red Cross, along with NIHSS certification, is required.

Additional Requirements

Travelers must be willing to work at least every other holiday. Candidates will be required to complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation, achieving an acceptable score on both evaluations.
