Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac/Telemetry/Dialysis unit. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients with a variety of cardiac medical and surgical conditions.

Shift Details

  • 12-hour evening shifts from 1100 to 2300
  • Every other weekend and holiday commitment required
  • Optional 36-hour schedule available

Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Stepdown
  • 29 beds in total
  • Nurse to Patient Ratios:
    • 1:4 on days until 2300
    • 1:5-6 on nights after 2300
  • Common diagnoses include cardiac conditions such as chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac surgery recovery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in a busy hospital environment
  • Experience with post-procedural cath lab patients is required
  • Familiarity with TR band compression devices and chest pain management is essential
  • Ability to manage and titrate drips such as Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and Amiodarone

Additional Information

  • There is a 24/7 central telemetry unit that monitors all non-critical care patients, allowing RNs to focus on direct patient care.
  • Charge Nurse takes a modified assignment during shifts.
  • Nurse Aides are present on the unit to assist with patient care.
  • Respiratory Therapy services are available around the clock, assisting with treatments as needed.
  • No self-scheduling is available, but block scheduling may be provided based on unit needs.
  • One shift of HR onboarding and one shift of unit-specific orientation is required for new hires.
