Job Summary
The Step Down Unit Nurse (RN) in a healthcare facility is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals with acute and complex conditions. This role involves assessing, planning, and implementing nursing interventions, educating patients and families, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards to promote optimal health outcomes.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Nursing (RN) experience of six (6) months to three (3) years; Management experience of zero (0) to three (3) years; Five plus (5)+ years of direct experience; Collaboration, Communication (verbal & written), Judgement/Critical Thinking, Organizational Understanding, Planning (Organizing, Time Management), Problem Solving, Quality, Reliability, Safety and Risk Management. Current NYS RN Licensure, BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross); education from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
- Additional Information: The RN will assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, serving as a primary or accountable nurse as designated. Responsibilities include patient education, medication administration, resource utilization, compliance with standards and policies, participation in professional development, and support of the Nursing Shared Governance Model. The role may require float rotation.
