Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized patient care within a 28-bed unit focusing on neurological, trauma, and orthopedic conditions. The RN will deliver comprehensive care, including drip titration and vent management, to a variety of acuity levels, while supporting the team during assigned shifts.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and holiday coverage, totaling a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical (MS), Progressive Care (PCU), or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings within the last year. Experience with Drip Administration (Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, 3%, Insulin) is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with home tracheostomy vents is highly preferred; travel-ready candidates should have recent vent management experience.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to sister Medical-Surgical units with various specialties including cardiac, general, hematology/oncology, and orthopedic units.
- Additional Information: The RN will participate in self-scheduling, with shifts managed to be balanced by the unit manager. The unit utilizes Ventilators, Trachs, Cpap, Bipap, Vapotherm, and Etco2 equipment. Telemetry monitors are centrally located, and RNs are required to read their own strips. Orientation includes one general shift plus one with a preceptor. Clinicians must have worked at this facility within the last six months or note in submission if they previously worked there. All clinicians must clock in and out on site.
