Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Location: not specified. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care within a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH). The RN will be responsible for delivering quality nursing services across MedSurg and PCU departments, demonstrating flexibility to support various units as needed, and ensuring patient safety and education throughout assigned shifts.

Job Details

  • Position Responsibilities: Providing patient education using appropriate modalities, ensuring safety through preventative measures such as side rails and equipment use, and following restraint policies when necessary. Demonstrates knowledge of safe operation of equipment in the PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas, troubleshooting as needed, and implementing infection control and isolation procedures with proper documentation. Maintains accurate and complete documentation of patient status, interventions, and responses, and documents charges accordingly. Completes physician orders promptly, performs 24-hour order checks if within duties, and delivers shift reports clearly and thoroughly. Communicates effectively with other departments, reports critical lab values timely, and maintains emergency carts, supplies, and restocking as needed.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid and active license in the state of residence, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), and 0 years of experience, with education credentials meeting current licensing standards.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must be willing to work through upcoming holiday seasons with minimal RTO dates and be experienced in all areas of MedSurg and Progressive Care.
