Job Summary – RN Step Down, Emory University Hospital (Cardiology 6E):

- Unit Type: High-acuity, cardiac-focused Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Shift: 12-hour AM shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM), 3 shifts/week (36 hours/week)
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 18 months recent cardiac unit experience
- Strong cardiac background
- Prior experience with cardiac drips and telemetry interpretation
- EPIC EMR experience
- Successful completion of a proctored Dysrhythmia Exam (first attempt, no remediation)
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
- Acuity: High patient acuity, frequent admissions/discharges, significant procedural volume
- Common Cardiac Drips:
- Insulin
- Milrinone
- Dobutamine
- Amiodarone
- Heparin
- Lasix
- Nitroglycerin
- Equipment/Specialty Experience:
- Chest tube experience required
- Heart transplant and LVAD experience preferred (training available)
- No ventilator patients
