Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality patient care in the Acute Care Surgery Patient Care Unit (PCU). The role involves working within a supportive team environment and adhering to best practices in patient management.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care to surgical patients in the PCU.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, documenting changes accurately.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care and recovery.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the unit.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required, preferably in an acute care or surgical setting.
• Proficiency in using Epic electronic medical records system is required.
• Flexibility to work a minimum of two holidays per contract period.
• Every other weekend (EOW) shifts are required.

Work Schedule

This position is for night shifts, comprising three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00. Scheduling does not follow a block format.

Patient Ratio

The nursing staff to patient ratio in this unit is 1:4, ensuring focused care for each patient.
