Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week
Job Description
Baptist Health Lexington is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will have recent cardiac step-down, PCU, or telemetry experience and be comfortable caring for patients requiring close monitoring and specialized cardiac nursing care.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac drips as ordered.
- Provide post-cardiac catheterization and PCI recovery care.
- Manage femoral sheaths, when qualified and required.
- Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Educate patients and families on treatment and discharge plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow patient safety standards.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license for the applicable state.
- ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred.
- Current BLS certification.
- No minimum experience specified; recent PCU, cardiac step-down, or telemetry experience is strongly preferred.
- The unit prefers candidates with approximately 5 years of relevant experience.
- Cardiac drip titration, post-cath/PCI recovery, and femoral sheath management experience preferred.
- GI oncology post-operative or chemotherapy experience is a strong plus.
Additional Details
- Weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be comfortable working night shifts in a high-acuity cardiac care setting.
Note: Submit candidates with strong recent PCU/cardiac step-down or telemetry experience. The facility particularly values cardiac drip titration and post-cath/PCI recovery skills.
