TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Louisville, Kentucky.
UNIT: PCU 3E TRANSPLANT
Unit Info: Beds: 28
Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 year
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
BLS, CPI must attend NIHSS
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Will get training on transplant patients
ESRD, dialysis patients.
Patient Ratios: RN: 1:2 new kidney, CVT 1:4, general 1:5
CNA: 2-3 days and nights
Skills required: Levo, Amio, heparin, Cardine, bumex, Lasix gtt, BIPAP, CT management, High Flow, TPN, manual peritoneal dialysis(preferred), surgery prep, Blood admin, PICC, JP, hemovac, CBI.
Support within the Department:
CNA
Secretary on days
Charge nurse takes assignment days and nights
Phlebotomy, nurses draw own labs
IV/VAT Team
Resource Nurse/Rapids
RT 24/7
Hospitalist 24/7
Transplant teams available 24/7
Central tele monitoring
Technology/Equipment:
EMR: Cerner
IV Pump: Plum ICU Medical
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: rolling vital machine/tele
Unit specific equipment:
Floating: If yes, where?
First to float
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: every other
On call? If so, what is that schedule? No
Holiday Expectations: 2 summers and 2 winters
Should approval of RTO go through manager or will you allow the interviewing team (if applicable) to approve time off on your behalf? Manager to approve
Shift times: 645-715
Schedule cycle: 6 weeks available 1 month before start
No block scheduling
