Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) at a healthcare facility in the area. This role involves supporting a dynamic and fast-paced medical-surgical environment, primarily working in the emergency holding area with a diverse patient population. The RN will be responsible for patient transport, clinical patient care, and resource management within the unit, requiring flexibility and strong clinical skills.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications; 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting, PCU experience preferred; valid license to practice as a registered nurse within the state.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV medication titration, and invasive line management; flexibility to float within scope of practice.
  • Support within the Department: Tech ratio of 1:10; 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist support; Respiratory Therapy available around the clock.
  • Technology/Equipment: EPIC electronic health record system, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing system.
  • Support: Support floating within scope of practice; can float for partial shifts.
  • Orientation: 2 days of hospital orientation; 1 day on the assigned unit.
  • Telemetry Competency: Required.
  • Scheduling: Must call the staffing office 30-45 minutes before each shift to receive assignments, with shifts beginning at 0700 or 1900. Punctuality required.
  • Duration: The assignment starts on 11/02/2026 and ends on 02/13/2027.
  • Additional Information: Candidate must be adaptable to a mixed patient population, including isolation and non-ambulatory patients. Must be resourceful and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
