Job Description

This position follows a streamlined clinical interview process. Candidates can expect outreach within two hours—via phone and text where applicable—with decisions typically made the same day or by the next business day.

Functioning within a healthcare environment's mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients during their shift. Responsibilities include:

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria.
• Utilizing scientific knowledge and clinical skills to make informed judgments.
• Assisting in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of nursing experience.
• Post-operative open-heart care experience.
• Critical care experience is highly preferred.
• Chest tube and other drain management experience.
• Proficient in pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access.
• Ability to monitor cardiac patients, including interpreting cardiac rhythm strips and responding to changes in rhythms.
• Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities.
• Experience with managing various procedures and equipment, including: assisting with chest tube removal, removal of pericardial pacing wires, management of temporary pacemakers, and troubleshooting non-invasive ventilation (NIV) devices.
• Must be willing to float to all units within skill level.

Profile Requirements

• Current work history and skills checklist relevant to the specialty (PCU).
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification.
• Active Ohio or Compact RN License.

Work Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts with a guarantee of 36 or 48 hours.
• Every other weekend commitment.
• No on-call requirements.
