Job Summary:
Cardiovascular ICU (ICU) Nurse in Spokane, Washington. This position involves caring for cardiac and vascular patients in a level 3 trauma center, focusing on post-operative cardiac care, telemetry, and complex cardiovascular conditions. The role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, high-acuity environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule cycle is set in 6-week periods, with shifts provided two weeks prior.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; 2 years of experience with strong cardiac or Progression Care Unit (PCU) background; valid licensure for practice in Washington; ability to care for cardiovascular patients, interpret rhythms, and manage epidurals and chest tubes; experience with cardiac drip management including nitro, heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-cardiac catheterization, microvascular flap procedures, vascular amputations, and telemetry monitoring.
Additional Information:
- Float: Traveler is first to float to Med/Surg units and ICU to cover overflow assignments.
- Support within the department includes CNA staff, free floating charge nurse, flex nurse, hospitalist, RT, and cardiologist on-call.
- Technology/Equipment: EMR via EPIC, IV Pumps (Alaris), Med Dispensing (Pyxis), Philips monitors (portable and bedside).
- Orientation: 12-hour unit orientation shifts (NEO2).
- Documentation, patient care, and clinical responsibilities include managing cardiovascular patient needs, rhythms, epidurals, and chest tubes, with medication management for cardiac drips.
