• Patient Population: Adult medical-surgical and cardiac patients requiring telemetry and step-down care
• Clinical Environment: Flexible scheduling with self-scheduling based on unit and manager needs

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification or equivalent competency required
• Experience with IV insertion and telemetry monitoring
• Comfort working in a high-acuity medical step-down or progressive care environment
• Ability to float as needed to ED, Med Surg, and ICU
• Experience with EPIC preferred
• Ability to complete required onboarding exams successfully
• Must be able to work night shifts and function effectively in a dynamic patient care setting

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for adult patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions
• Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer and titrate vasoactive drips as ordered, including Nitro, Cardene, and Cardizem
• Support patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, sepsis, CVA, diabetes, respiratory failure, and renal disease
• Perform and assist with procedures and interventions including chest tube care, central line care, thoracentesis support, and dialysis-related care
• Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to maintain efficient patient flow
• Deliver patient- and family-centered care with a focus on safety, quality, and compassion
• Follow unit protocols, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to positive patient outcomes
• Adapt to floating assignments as needed to support staffing across the facility
