Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts
Position Overview
Seeking experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurses for its 34-bed Acute Neuroscience Unit. Nurses will care for adult and geriatric patients with neurological, neurosurgical, ENT, and other complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients requiring progressive and telemetry monitoring.
- Care for patients with stroke, seizures, dementia, and neuromuscular disorders.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize dysrhythmias.
- Care for neurosurgical patients, including those with head, neck, and back trauma.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to emergencies.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
- Float to other units within the nurse's scope of practice as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
- Neuroscience or neurology experience preferred.
- Active Virginia or compact RN license required at submission.
- BLS certification required.
- Epic charting experience required — no exceptions.
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience preferred.
- Trauma Level I experience preferred.
- BSN preferred.
Two professional references required.
