Job Requirements

  • Active RN license with compact licensure accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience
  • BLS certification through AHA
  • ACLS certification through AHA
  • Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
  • NIHSS certification or demonstrated competency
  • Must pass an EKG exam prior to start
  • Strong cardiac nursing skills with experience caring for intermediate-acuity patients
  • Ability to meet a local radius requirement of 80 miles

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a busy PCU / intermediate care setting
  • Monitor and assess patients with cardiac and medical diagnoses requiring frequent evaluations
  • Care for patients with conditions such as NSTEMI, acute coronary syndrome, chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac intervention needs
  • Administer and titrate cardiac drips as ordered and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate closely with the charge nurse, nursing assistants, and medical team to support continuity of care
  • Provide care for overflow medical patients with diagnoses such as diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia, sepsis, and GI bleeds
  • Support bedside procedures and advanced cardiac care as needed in a dynamic clinical environment
  • Maintain safe, compassionate, and efficient patient-centered care throughout every shift
