Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Information:

• Night shift: 1845 to 0715
• Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
• No guarantee of hours; no on-call duties
• 24 hours of operation M-F

Minimum Experience: 2 years of experience required.

Certifications/Requirements:

• BLS/BCLS certification
• ACLS certification

Description:

This position is for a Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit. The unit consists of 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU.

General Job Duties:

• Provide primary nursing care
• Conduct telemetry monitoring and strip readings
• Perform fingerstick blood sugar tests

Equipment Utilized:

• Meditech charting system
• Pyxis for medication management
• BIPAP
• Continuous cardiac monitoring

Required Skills and Experience:

• At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Progressive Care and telemetry experience are preferred

Licensure and Certifications:

• Active State of HI license required upon acceptance of offer
• ACLS preferred, current PALS preferred, NIHSS certification preferred

Floating Requirements:

The nurse may be required to float to other acute care units, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER.

Dress Code:

Scrubs are the required uniform.

Holiday Coverage:

Holiday coverage is required.
