TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Tacoma, Washington.
UNIT: Nursing Float Pool PCU. EPIC is required. Need IV experience to submit here. Will work mainly ED Hold area. Must pass DYS test prior to start.
MUST have recent PCU exp. to submit (within the last 6 months)
Certs Required: ACLS, BLS, NIH
Experience Required: 2 years experience, will take first-time traveler with previous float pool experience. IV Medication Titration, Cardiac rhythm interpretation, bipap management, ostomy, general drains, traches, chest tubes, lumbar drains; TR Bands experience (preferred).
RN:
PCU/CCU/ACC: 1:4
All PCU Overflow
Med-Surg: 1:5-6
ED Holding - Same ratio based on patient's level of care
Covid Units
Patient Types:
-Most common unit you will be on is ED Holding. This is not considered your home unit, but it is a unit where you should expect to spend most of your contract. You will float to inpatient PCU area but will likely spend most of your shifts working in the ED Holding area.
-Neuro, Trauma, Medical, Surgical
-Respiratory compromise, Sepsis, renal failure, bleeding disorders, general surgical patients, CHF, COPD, Pneumonia, General medical, various ortho cases
-CCU (Cardiac Step Down), Cardiac Short Stay (Observation)
-24 hours post CABG/ TAVRS, STEMI, Fem - Pop Bypass, Pacemaker insertion, Ablation, CHF, R/O Chest pain, Post Cardiac Catheterization (uses the radial approach)
Floating: PCU/CCU, Medical-Surgical, ED-Holding, Traveler could float to Sister Hospital as needed, around 2.5 miles away. This is not common but is a possibility.
