Professional Staff Nurse
Job Description
The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a vital member of the care delivery team. This role is responsible for setting the standards for care quality and managing nursing care for groups of patients and their families. The Professional Staff Nurse applies independent judgment and collaborates with team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. This position emphasizes leadership, partnership, and collaboration while caring for patients and promoting high standards of nursing practice.
Responsibilities
- Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
- Actively participate in quality improvement efforts within the department or unit.
- Utilize research and evidence-based practices to enhance clinical care.
- Apply the nursing process within the Relationship Based Care framework to create a healing environment.
- Demonstrate critical thinking in identifying patient care issues across various dimensions.
- Maintain comprehensive patient documentation that fosters communication between caregivers.
- Provide education and support to patients and families throughout their care journey.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team and respond to team member needs for assistance.
- Adhere to cultural competence in interactions with patients and colleagues.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- BSN preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Compliance with PA Act 31, 33, 34, 73.
Schedule
This is a rotating shift position requiring 12-hour shifts, three days a week.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
