Job Requirements
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- At least 1 year of current PCU nursing experience required
- Current and consistent acute care experience within the last 12 months
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Ability to manage mixed-acuity PCU and med-surg patients
- Experience in surgical oncology, oncology nursing, or stepdown care strongly preferred
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a busy Progressive Care Unit
- Monitor patient status and respond to changes with strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
- Support patients with surgical oncology diagnoses and related complex medical needs
- Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and ordered infusions safely and accurately
- Manage patients receiving insulin drips, heparin drips, and telemetry monitoring
- Provide care for oncologic emergencies and infection prevention priorities
- Perform chest tube care and support respiratory and cardiovascular interventions as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to promote excellent patient outcomes
- Maintain a safe, organized environment with a strong focus on fall prevention and infection control
