Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
  • Current, consistent acute care experience within the last 12 months
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
  • Experience with Epic preferred/required
  • Ability to care for mixed-acuity PCU and med-surg patients
  • Comfortable floating within scope to other acute care oncology units
  • Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality care to surgical oncology and progressive care patients
  • Monitor and manage complex conditions, including oncologic emergencies, cytokine release syndrome, and infusion-related needs
  • Administer and manage chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips
  • Perform chest tube care and support patients with respiratory or cardiac monitoring needs
  • Promote infection prevention and fall reduction best practices
  • Interpret telemetry and promptly recognize changes in dysrhythmias
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care
  • Adapt to variable weekend coverage and unit needs as scheduled
  • Float to other acute care oncology units as needed and within scope of practice
