Scheduled Details

• 12-hour Night Shifts: 1900 - 0730
• 3 shifts per week

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs independently
• Comfortable managing without a vascular access team, making consult calls, and conducting codes
• Experience with open-heart patients on Day 2 or Day 3 with pacer wires
• Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1 maximum

License & Certification Requirements

• Active RN License in Kansas or Compact RN License
• BLS and ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke certification

Floating Requirements

The Registered Nurse may be required to float to various areas, including ICU, Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED, based on prior experience.

Weekend Requirements

Availability to work every other weekend is required.

Holiday Requirements

Travelers must be able to work one holiday from each of the following groups: Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday; Christmas Eve or Day; New Year’s Eve or Day. Managers may approve working two major holidays if working three is a concern.

Orientation Requirements

Orientation will include:

• First 2 days at the primary campus
• Day 3: Local orientation and Director of Nursing training
• Day 4: Olathe Director of Nursing training
• Day 5: Virtual Epic training

Additional Notes

• This is a nicotine-free facility.
• There will be 8 hours of non-billable orientation.
• Current EMR used is EPIC.
• Bi-weekly pay periods.
• The facility allows for the cancellation of one shift per 2-week pay period at no cost to the facility and no pay to the employee. A minimum 2-hour notice will be provided via the scheduling platform.
