Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
  • NIH Stroke Certification required
  • Dysrhythmia exam required
  • Previous cardio/vascular experience preferred
  • Experience working in acute care, telemetry, or stepdown settings preferred
  • Ability to work nights and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Manage patients with cardiac, respiratory, renal, stroke/TIA, and post-operative needs
  • Care for patients receiving therapies such as heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, and insulin drips
  • Support patients with oxygen modalities including high-flow and non-invasive ventilation
  • Care for patients with chest tubes, central lines, drains, and wound vacs
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate treatment and education
  • Advocate for patient safety, comfort, and positive outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members
