Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact license eligibility
• At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
• BLS required
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire; preferred at start
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred
• Neuro/stroke nursing experience strongly preferred
• Ability to complete a dysrhythmia exam
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to stepdown and progressive care patients
• Assess patient conditions, identify priorities, and develop individualized plans of care
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with nursing standards and protocols
• Monitor patients with cardiac drips and other complex medical needs
• Respond to changing patient conditions with confidence and timely intervention
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Support patient and family education throughout the care process
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards
• Care for adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity environment
