Job Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of practice or compact license eligibility
• At least 1 year of registered nurse experience required
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire
• BLS required
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• Dysrhythmia exam required
• Neuro or stroke experience preferred
• Experience in acute care, stepdown, or PCU nursing preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a progressive care/stepdown environment
• Perform comprehensive assessments, identify priorities, and develop individualized plans of care
• Administer medications safely and in alignment with professional standards and unit protocols
• Monitor and respond to changing patient conditions with sound clinical judgment
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families
• Care for patients requiring cardiac drips, hemodynamic monitoring, and chest tube management
• Support patients with advanced respiratory needs, temporary pacing, and conscious sedation when indicated
• Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
• Deliver compassionate care while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced hospital setting
