Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in the state of practice or compact license eligibility
  • Minimum of 2 years of Stepdown, SDU, or IMCU nursing experience required
  • Intermediate care ventilator experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • NIH Stroke certification required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam
  • Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to PCU and Stepdown patients with varying acuity levels
  • Monitor and manage patients receiving drips, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Lasix, and Bumex
  • Care for patients using BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilator support as needed
  • Support patients with cardiac, neuro, respiratory, renal, and general medical conditions
  • Perform ongoing assessments, identify changes in condition, and respond quickly to evolving patient needs
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with physicians and nursing staff
  • Promote patient safety, comfort, and quality outcomes throughout every shift
