Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact license eligibility
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Experience in acute care, stepdown, or progressive care strongly preferred
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred at hire and required within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms, drips, and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Comfort working with adult and geriatric patient populations

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to PCU and stepdown patients using the nursing process
  • Complete ongoing assessments, identify priority needs, and update individualized plans of care
  • Administer medications and titrate multiple drips, including rate control and pressure support medications
  • Monitor and manage BiPAP, central lines, insulin drips, CIWA protocols, and groin/sheath management
  • Care for patients recovering from EP Lab and Cath Lab procedures, including ablations, pacemakers, ICDs, TAVRs, stent placements, CTOs, and Watchman procedures
  • Support patient safety, quality improvement, and coordinated care across the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Educate patients and families while adapting care to changing clinical conditions
  • Maintain calm, confident, and compassionate care in a dynamic cardiac nursing environment
