Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • 1-2 years of recent acute care, telemetry, or progressive care experience preferred
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam
  • Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality patient care in a progressive care and stepdown nursing environment
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and continuously evaluate patient condition
  • Develop, implement, and adjust individualized plans of care based on patient needs
  • Administer medications and therapies in accordance with standards, protocols, and best practices
  • Monitor patients receiving cardiac and respiratory support, including drips and BiPAP
  • Care for patients with complex needs such as chest tubes and hemodynamic instability
  • Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
  • Respond promptly and confidently to changes in patient status
  • Educate patients and families to support understanding, recovery, and discharge readiness
  • Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and professional nursing standards
