Job Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- 1-2 years of recent acute care, telemetry, or progressive care experience preferred
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam
- Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality patient care in a progressive care and stepdown nursing environment
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and continuously evaluate patient condition
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized plans of care based on patient needs
- Administer medications and therapies in accordance with standards, protocols, and best practices
- Monitor patients receiving cardiac and respiratory support, including drips and BiPAP
- Care for patients with complex needs such as chest tubes and hemodynamic instability
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
- Respond promptly and confidently to changes in patient status
- Educate patients and families to support understanding, recovery, and discharge readiness
- Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and professional nursing standards
