PCU Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool

Position Details

• Position: PCU Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool
• Facility: Grady Memorial Hospital
• Shift: Days
• Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Patient Ratio: 1:3–4
• EMR: Epic
• Floating: Required across all PCU/IMCU floors

Patient Population and Clinical Experience

The nurse will care for patients with various cardiac conditions, including:

• STEMI and NSTEMI
• Cardiac surgery (CTS)
• Chest pain (C/P)
• Patients requiring cardiac monitoring and telemetry care
• Lower-acuity telemetry patients within the same unit

Required Clinical Skills

• Management of cardiac drips, including:
  • Milrinone
  • Dobutamine
  • Vasopressors
• Progressive Care and Intermediate Care nursing.
• Cardiac patient assessment and continuous monitoring.
• Ability to manage varying patient acuity levels in a float-pool environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar-sized healthcare facility.
• Previous PCU/IMCU experience with a cardiac patient population.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Epic EMR experience.
• Flexibility to float across all PCU/IMCU floors.
