Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position located in a medical facility. This assignment involves providing specialized care for adult and geriatric patient populations, with a focus on monitoring and managing patients with complex conditions. The role requires adaptability to floating across various departments within the facility as needed.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), 2 years of related experience, experience with charting systems such as Epic, and prior care experience in a community hospital or LTAC setting preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
- On-call: No.
- Open to Accommodating Block Schedule: No.
- Locals Accepted: No, home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility.
- Pending License Accepted: No.
- RTO Restrictions: No more than 7 days.
- Guaranteed Hours: Three shifts per 13 weeks; canceled shifts will be for the original shift length.
- Special Requirements: Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, Omnicell.
- Additional Job Details: Floating may be required across departments and facilities, including Kansas and Missouri, as needed. The assignment involves handling patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, wound care, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, renal failure, atrial fibrillation, gastrointestinal bleeding, stroke, and COVID-19. Familiarity with NIH Stroke Scale is necessary.
- Compliance and Submittal Notes: Completion of required documents and modules including EPIC training, infusion pump, and glucometer training are mandatory prior to start. All compliance documents are due two Fridays before the start date, and modules must be completed within specified timelines.
